THE ROMAN MINT

The site of a Roman mint has been localised. Modern GIS analysis and geophysical surveys will pinpoint the following:  foundations of structures where coins were made; garbage pits that may hold discarded mint-error coins; basements; and, marshalling yards where finished coins were stored prior to transport. Every month, many coins were likely lost at each stage during this important mint’s multi-century existence.

Mr Egan has already led a team on a preliminary survey of this locale.

Very good documentary film subject, plus an episode in the AR series.
