THE ALLIED AIRCRAFT

In the darkest days of WWII, two Allied aircraft ditched after pivotal missions. Their crews were able to swim to nearby islands.

Today, local fishermen occasionally see a light oil slick from one of those famous and valuable aircraft. Due to depths, currents, and poor visibility, only commercial divers will conduct recovery operations (supplemented by ROVs).

Very good subject for a documentary film, and possibly an AR series episode.
