THE VANISHED AIRCRAFT

An old aircraft vanished while ferrying valuable cargo, rare documents, and half its normal passenger load. On a previous flight, the pilot made a serious navigation blunder — a tendency likely relevant to this disappearance. 

We may deploy custom-built, sensor-laden artifact hunting drones. Engineers available through university alliances can help develop and test this special class of drone (of Mr Egan’s design) inspired by the Viper probe droid of Star Wars fame. 

It is envisioned that a drone flock, remotely ‘piloted’ by trained AR-enabled adventurer-funders, will skim along pre-determined grids hunting for hidden indicators of the lost aircraft via sensor ‘hits’. Drones will lower the costs and improve the effectiveness of otherwise troublesome and expensive surveys.

Very good subject for a documentary film, and at least two episodes in the AR series.
