THE DEEP LAKE BIRD

A richly storied and iconic vintage aircraft, the first of two remaining examples globally, rests at a considerable depth. The other hulk is too damaged and corroded to be of historic value. Recovery operations will be complex and dangerous, requiring a specially-configured ROV.

Later, during the salvage lift, only commercial divers will be deployed to ensure the aircraft is stable before it reaches the lake surface.

Very good subject for a documentary film, and an episode in the AR series.
