THE RIVER BOMBER DISCOVERY
A WWII British bomber flying a low-level mission was hit by Japanese gunfire. The pilot ditched in a river, and his aircraft sank to a depth of 20’ to 30’.
Many decades later, a commercial diver, employed by an engineering-construction company, found the aircraft and contacted Mr Egan through a mutual salvage acquaintance. Strong currents and poor visibility will complicate recovery operations.
Possible subject for a documentary film.
