The Unterseeboot Engine

Motorheads rejoice! The recently-working engine of a WWII German U-boat has been found. This former diesel powerplant was removed from a Type VII Kriegsmarine submarine.  After the war, the engine was re-purposed as a back-up generator for a mill. Due to the mill’s slate roof and solid construction, the interior is still quite dry. Mr Egan found, inspected, and photographed this engineering wonder.

Good subject for a documentary film, plus possibly an AR special.
